Origins & funding
Developed from within cultural institutions.
artwork was jointly developed by Deichtorhallen Hamburg, Kampnagel and HAU Hebbel am Ufer. Development was funded by the German Federal Cultural Foundation through Fonds Digital. artwork was released as open-source software in 2023.

Implementation at Kampnagel
From a grown legacy system to a shared platform.
Starting point
An internally developed planner had grown over many years. Some processes remained analogue, knowledge depended on individual people and modern collaboration became increasingly difficult.
The approach
A small admin team first learned the whole platform. Departments and key users then joined in phases while the legacy system continued during a transition period.
Today
Processes are digitally traceable and can keep adapting through the project builder. The internal team now carries training and development ideas itself.
